Gary, Indiana’s “Merciless” Mary McGee (25-3, 13 KOs) has been in this game for almost 15 years and has gone toe-to-toe with some of the best in the sport.

On December 5, McGee travels to New York to grab her piece of the 140 pound pie with Matchroom Boxing’s Katie Taylor and Jessica McCaskill.

DiBella’s Brooklyn Boxing show at Terminal 5 in New York will be the stage for McGee’s IBF Title shot with Argentina’s Ana Laura Esteche (14-5-3, 2 KOs), whom formerly held this strap as well as the WBA and WBO belt in this weight division.

McGee, who took time away after having her son, is back in the sport 100% and ready to claim her own history.

Team Empire Management’s Brian Cohen stated, “Mary is a talented boxer. She has the experience and capabilities to contend with anyone from Lightweight to Welterweight.”

Cohen continued, “(I am) Excited about the direction of Team Empire with Mary McGee now in the championship fold. All the fake champions need to step up or get the fuck out of the way.”

Esteche will be no pushover, no easy win for McGer. She has fought for numerous championships in her career thus far.

We caught up with McGee at her hometown gym, Hammond Boxing Club, this week before the Thanksgiving holiday and before heading east to win her title.
