A respectful man was born on this day 21 years ago in the Chicago suburbs and his journeys are just beginning.
Nick Mazurek entered the professional ranks in July on a Hitz Boxing show with an emphatic impact as he drilled his opponent into the canvas in just 90 seconds. This jump into a career comes after a decorated amateur career fostered by the best trainers around, in Sam Colonna.
Mazurek immediately signed with Chicago promoter, Hitz Boxing, and is now on the fast-track to start the ascension to something great.
I have spoken with the young heavyweight many times and he always gives the respect to all around.
I caught up with him yesterday while he was in training for a couple fights coming up. He is scheduled to fight this Friday in Green Bay on a Rough House Promotions card and then again on Black Wednesday. At the end of the day, he knows his priorities.
