Following a controversial decision against in BKB 3 in June, the hard hitting Sam Horowitz returns to throw bombs in front of his hometown fans.

It has been an up and down year in the ring and pit, but that has not deterred the hard hitting Light Heavyweight.

The Russian Concussion was dealt his first career defeat in the ring in March by another heavy-fisted local, Simon Buettner (7-1, 4 KOs).

That loss did not break Horowitz as he bounced back with a commanding 1st round KO over Ramira Thomas in May.

At 3-1 with all three wins coming by KO, he caught the eye on BKB for their June BKB 3 showcase. He defends himself about the controversial decision, and rightfully so. One noticeable omission in the scoring was his knowdown of Chris Sprang. Horowitz seemed to have brought the fight to Sprang for much of the five rounds, but the judges did not see it quite the same. Regardless of the result, BKB has expressed interest in bring Horowitz back in a future show.

On Saturday, August 22nd, Horowitz again shows his fighting resilience as he is slated to face a rugged Israel Echevarria of Chicago for win #4.

Recently, we caught up with him at Sam Colonna Boxing Gym.
